Scared dogs are often overlooked, and Garth is one of those pups who needs some extra TLC. It’s clear that this poor boy has been through a lot of trauma in his life. He flinches when hands are raised and gets startled by loud noises. Garth will need time, patience, and a calm environment to decompress after leaving the shelter. But we know he can heal—he just needs a chance. ❤️🩹
When volunteers spend time with Garth, they notice that he starts to relax once he gets to know them. He’s even allowed petting and takes treats from handlers. This shows that Garth is building trust, and with time, he’ll be able to truly bond with his future family.
Why Garth Deserves a Forever Home
Garth is smart, handsome, and eager to learn. He already knows how to sit and is motivated by treats. More importantly, he’s a gentle soul who simply needs love and reassurance. Garth is good with other dogs too! He respects boundaries and isn’t pushy at all. He prefers to greet other dogs and then explore the yard on his own. Slow introductions, after a decompression period, will set him up for success in a multi-dog household.
